About Me

Me and my gallery

Three people think I’m the most important man in the world. The rest of this isn’t going to compare to that.

I am a geeky, married, father of two. I work as an embedded linux developer for a big technology company. My primary hobby is photography; I take many, many pictures of my kids, several of them have been quite good. I have dabbled in “professional” portrait photography, but it’s really hard to take pictures of little people who you don’t know well. I also have a gadget fetish, so I buy/sell/read about gadgets all the time.

I started this blog in 2003, but did not really post on a regular basis until 2004. I find that it’s a good way to communicate with my family, who is all at least 1500 miles away. As a bonus, it helps me to remember things because I cannot seem to remember what happened any earlier than about two days ago.

I am an engineer by education, but a creator by inclination.

Turn-ons: long hair, bandwidth

Turn-offs: tupperware, rebates

I read a lot of other peoples’ blogs. In particular, I like:
  • Crazy Us: Great writer, great photographer, great person.
  • The Second Half: Reading Carol’s blog makes me feel like I don’t have so much on my plate.
I listen to a couple podcasts:
  • Croncast - Kris and Betsy Smith: these people are just like our family, only funnier. They are truly undiscovered great talents.
  • Tim and Tony: really really vulgar, funny, and more like a real radio show. They are really unusual in that their real lives and real problems have intruded into their podcast so that you will hear poignant and pornographic in the same show.

Since I don’t read the paper or watch the news EVER, I get most of my media exposure from the Dave, Shelly, and Chainsaw Show, which is the big morning radio show in San Diego.
