We are the Champions!

By Dad on general — 9:37 am

Last night my volleyball team won the “tournament” which ends every eight-week season in our volleyball class. We went 8-0 for the night, and the final game we actually started out 0-4 and came back from 11-14 to win 16-14. I’m really happy that we did so well, but it turns out that my team for the night was not really my team… we had a lot of people out this season, and ended up playing with three substitute players, two of which were significantly better than the original team members. Oh well, last tournament, my team played four games before scoring our first point, so I don’t mind being on the receiving end of some good luck.

That was great! Let’s never do it again.

By Dad on general; travel — 6:09 am

We’ll we’re finally back from vacation. Actually we got back Sunday around noon, and spent most of the day recovering. Last night we decided that the trip was a success, but next time we need more vacation in our vacation. With so many people involved, at a new place, there’s simply too much logistics going on for any real relaxation to take place, which is probably what we need more than anything. We thank everyone, especially Grandma D. & Grandpa T. and Grandpa K. & S. for their help. Over the next few days I’m going to post recaps and pictures of the vacation, since I was without connectivity the whole time.

Ah, jet lag. I’ve been up since 3:30am.

Made it

By Dad on anna; general; travel — 3:32 pm

Well, no problems with the flight, and Grandma D. and Auntie K. came to pick us up, so we are now on our way to the cottage. The flights were actually fairly short, but for some reason the trip seemed to take a long time. Thanks to portable electronics, Anna was well enough behaved. The plane’s first officer was a tour guide wannabe, and had the whole plane rolling their eys and chuckling at overlong descriptions of whatever was beneath the plane. Ok, at this point we are fully vacationing. Where’s my beer?

Test again

By site admin on general — 12:17 am

Ok, this is another mobile test to the blog, since the first seemed a little ugly. We’re packing now, and let me just say that if the plane crash lands in the Rockies on the way there, we’ve got nothing to worry about when it come to supplies.

Legoland

By Dad on anna; general; photos; travel — 12:25 pm

Today I’m taking the day off work so that Anna and I can go to Legoland. What a perfect day for it. So far we haven’t had to wait more than 5 minutes for any ride. Anna only wants to he on the rides where I go on with her. We’re finishing lunch now, ready to in see what other sides we can find.

The day turned out really nice, with very few people at the the park, and perfect weather. Anna and I even rode on a roller coaster, but she was pretty scared after the first turn. She didn’t freak out, but she had a serious case of white knuckles.

Tigger Sings Karaoke in Heels

By Dad on anna; general; photos — 9:54 pm

Sunday after nap, I took Anna to the Kidsville promo at North County Fair. It was a lot of fun for all of the kids and at least three of the parents. There were three playhouses set up: the firehouse/jail, the grocery store, and the theatre, complete with costumes, stage, and karaoke. Anna got herself outfitted in a Tigger costume, then later decided a pair of purple heels would go best with her bright orange outfit. Finally, she got on stage in her getup and sang “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” I’ll have to earmark this photo for when suitors show up at the door thirteen years from now.

Earlier on Sunday I was able to successfully take Anna for a bike ride in the trailer with nary a complaint. The secret? Bring the DVD player.
